Occupation: geriatric nurse, relaxation trainer and hypnotist

After my first vocational training as a journeyman confectioner, I was called up for military service. However, I decided to do 12 months of civilian service in a home for the elderly, which gave me my first insight into a completely new and exciting field of work.

It was clear to me quite quickly that I wanted to learn this profession and I applied directly to the responsible body of this institution. In the following 3 years of training, I was confronted with many different aspects of nursing.

The high demands due to the different needs of the residents, the working conditions and the ever-increasing bureaucracy demanded a lot from me, but could never take away my joy in this work.

After I had completed my training as a geriatric nurse, I changed wards within the facility and was allowed to use my skills as a team leader there a short time later. With the appropriate further training and a large rucksack of newly acquired knowledge, my team and I shaped the daily routine on the ward.

In the long run, the challenges as a team leader left their mark and I was confronted with a high stress level, which I needed help to cope with. As I always thought "productively", I trained as a relaxation trainer to be able to help myself. This awakened my interest in hypnosis, laughter yoga and psychology, which I began to practise as a sideline.

In my practice for hypnosis and relaxation techniques I explored new possibilities of communication, creative interaction and business design. I gained my first experience in creating websites through the website www.hypnose-willer.de, which I had initially designed myself. All this flowed into my work as a geriatric nurse.

As I wanted to deal with this topic more intensively at that time, I gave up my management role and went back to working in normal shifts as a registered geriatric nurse.

A part-time job in out-of-hospital intensive care, caring for home-ventilated patients, brought another 4 years of variety into my professional life. There I got to know the challenges of caring for relatives in the outpatient sector and gained new understanding.

With the necessary care and support of my own grandmother from 2015, I withdrew from outpatient intensive care, worked only in the old people's home and cared for my grandmother together with my wife. Since then, we have lived together in one household, which presented us with new challenges and still does.

Today, in my prime and highly motivated, I look back on an exciting and varied professional life. With a lot of knowledge and experience in my luggage, I have the desire to pass it on to people who can really use it. The idea for pflegetrick-AKADEMIE was born.
